Clay golems from the island.
Little golems One thing that caught my eye straight away was that both the clearing as well as the path had strange clay statues situated all along their edges. (...) They were different sizes, from fifty centimetres to almost a metre, as well as different shapes - some tall and thin, some chubby and round. They all depicted a simplistic sort of creature with a torso, two legs and arms, but no well defined hands or feet. They had heads but no faces, just a single slit where one would expect eyes to be. As I stood there, every now and then one of these creatures would start vibrating for a few seconds, which was accompanied by a rattling sound coming from their heads and a glow of light sipping through the eye-slit.
Servant golemsAs the food disappeared from the tables a few creatures similar to the clay statues, but much bigger, appeared. They did differ a bit from their smaller counterparts. Their backs were hollowed out forming a sort of cradle or storage space. The smaller ones did not have hands, these golems instead of hands had three feelers at the end of each arm. Slightly longer than normal fingers they looked like wet clay - malleable, but strong enough to grip and hold things and carry them around. Their faces were different too, instead of an eye slit like the little ones the front half of the head was had the same wet clay as their feelers, as opposed to the dry red clay of the rest of their bodies. The face seemed like a writing canvas with what looked like words from an unknown language. Some of these symbols stayed in the same place, others would re-write themselves in front of my very eyes. They moved fairly slowly and did not look threatening at all.
