Language
As far as general knowledge goes Toivoans can speak in any language. In actuality, it isn't quite that simple. The more common, contemporary and still in use the language is the easier it is to talk in it and understand it. Languages long forgotten or related to arcane magic can vary from understandable with some effort to "patchy". The ultimate difficulty is the True Speech [True Tongue / ? Prime Speech/Tongue ?] the language of ancient dragons.
Rather than use the Common language the Toivoans on the island speak Draki, a language constantly shaped and refined to grow closer and closer to the True Speech with every generation.
It's easy to understand this language purification process when another aspect of their speech is revealed. Every language has a taste for the Toivoans. So polishing and improving Draki often relies on deciding what variation of a word has a purer taste. Consensus is often achieved only after some time.
The easy with which Toivoans switch between the languages in conversation, often even without knowing, just to match the taste they sense from others makes them great consecutive translators.
